This entry-level role will lead the strategy and execution on social media and digital content effort aimed at building brand awareness and product education to our consumers. The successful candidate will exhibit the ability to write engaging content for social media and onsite pages with scrupulous attention to detail being critical. We are looking for someone who is creative, team oriented, customer focused and will have the ability to organize, set priorities, and manage several projects at once, with minimal supervision.
ResponsibilitiesThe Social Media Manager will own all social strategies and collaborate with marketing and stakeholders across the organization to craft compelling content to drive product awareness/adoption and community engagement
Develop and publish engaging content to build brand and product awareness to our social media communities.
Work within the organization to develop relevant category specific content targeted at current consumers and retailers.
Must be able to develop and design content as well as work with the design team on the graphic design and visuals to support digital content.
Develop processes for the effective and efficient assignment, collection, and publishing of digital content from internal collaborators (editorial type role). Ensure consistent “voice" of all online content.
Ensure all social media platforms are updated and maintained consistently.
Implement Social Listening program and develop supporting analysis/ reporting.
RequirementsWriting: Social media managers will need to know how to write effective copy in a lot of different styles, for websites, twitter, Facebook, etc. Knowledge of writing for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is also needed.
Research: Social media managers need to know what is happening in the fast changing world of social and digital media, what competitors are doing and what new measurement tools are being use.
Problem-Solving: Social media managers figure out how to best communicate a company's message on different platforms, and sometimes might need to convey sensitive issues or deal with angry customers.
Organization: There are many different platforms, and new ones are being developed all the time. How you communicate on each, determining audience, and measuring tactics all take organization.
Interpersonal Skills: Even through writing, social media managers are a direct connection between a company and the public. Being friendly and approachable online will help.
Technical Skills: Social media managers work almost exclusively through computers. Understanding computers, SEO, internet access and being tech savvy is necessary.
