Description

Small business focused on “sport-travel adventure tours” for mature market (60+ years old in general) who enjoy cultural tours to Europe as well as staying active in sport. Company president is an American living in Spain. Tours are organized in Spain and customers are from the US and Canada. Internship is focused "Sports Event and Tour Management”. The tours are a lot of fun and demand for them is growing. We have had several successful tours over the past year, and now need help managing the growth. Will involve correspondence with interested travelers who live in the US and Canada. Work can be done online. Our webpage has been up and running for a year now. Work involves collaborating closely with the president, the online marketing director and the customer service manager in developing and promoting the tours, communicating with customers, preparing details of the tour, following-up with customers, and analyzing the competition. Great opportunity to learn about online and offline marketing, sport and travel industry, customer service and international business. Opportunity to transition into a full-time job after 6 months.

Responsibilities

Help manage customer communications to answer questions about the tours and the travel details.
Help manage new itineraries for upcoming tours.
Help to promote the tours to our target market in the US and Canada.
Carry out market research to identify interesting groups to target. President will help in training what types of groups we're looking for.
Help manage the customer database so that we're sure we are taking good care of our customers.
Analyze our webpage to look for and suggest opportunities to improve it.
Help to manage our social network strategy, including Facebook and Blog.
Help with SEO strategy to ensure we have good ranking in searches.

Requirements

Preferred majors include business, marketing, communications and tourism. Other majors will be considered. English native language. Enthusiastic people person as you will be interacting often by phone and email with customers. Experience with social networks a plus. Spanish a plus, but not necessary. Wordpress or other webpage knowledge a plus. Need to be responsible, eager to learn, enjoy sport and travel, eager to serve customers resolve their questions, and interested in learning how a small business works in the international marketplace.
