Company Information: Our company, iFamilyKC, LLC, has been serving our community for over 13 years. We specialize in promoting Kansas City metro products, services, events and resources to local families with children. Our mission is to be THE resource for Kansas City Metro families by utilizing our monthly print publication distributed throughout the KC Metro area, our web site, email marketing, social media and face to face events to promote our advertisers to local families.

You will learn how to design and execute email marketing campaigns, CMS Admin, Web Site Maintenance, Blog Design and Content Creation. You’ll gain invaluable skills in professional 3rd party platforms, research, writing, online marketing, sales, and more!

Your Benefits: You’ll work directly with our team, and experience working in a direct marketing business. Each week, we’ll set aside 15 minutes to specifically coach and counsel you on any business, or career to help you advance your personal and professional goals. Do a great job, and we’ll provide you a dynamite letter of recommendation and personal referrals to key contacts to further your career advancement. Develop a stellar professional portfolio of your work to show prospective employers. Save time and money on gas by working from home and making your own schedule while enhancing your skill set and resume. Academic credit can be arranged for those who want or need it.

Location: This is a virtual internship! We are located in Overland Park, KS, but you can live and work from anywhere. Ideally we would like someone that lives close enough to meet for initial training and follow up with emails and weekly phone calls. But we are open to long distance internship for the right candidate.

Ideal Timeline: Start immediately. We are currently accepting applications for winter, fall, spring, and summer, so apply for one or all. We require a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week and at least 16 weeks.

Compensation: This is an unpaid internship, but the experience is priceless! With what you learn, you can immediately qualify and apply for higher paying jobs and have a better chance at getting them. This, combined with the other benefits listed above, creates a lifetime value of this internship.

Our Marketing Intern will learn how to compose, design & execute effective email campaigns, update and maintenance web site and blog, create quality content to be promoted online and through Social Media. This internship also includes gaining experience in research, gathering and analyzing sales data, networking and events. You’ll gain invaluable skills in writing, online marketing, sales, and more.


You Are: An outgoing, enthusiastic people-person and a lifetime learner who wants to know the inside secrets of how business works from a marketing perspective. You have excellent communications skills and a basic knowledge and comfort in learning our processes. Most importantly, we are looking for interns with enthusiasm, dedication, a thirst for learning, and the self-motivation to work independently. You must be proficient with technology, speak fluent English, mastery of Word, Excel and have a computer, phone, internet access, and an email account. Applicants of any age (18-100) and any career and educational background can apply. We welcome students as well as those who are unemployed, underemployed, stay-at-home moms and dads, or anyone who wants to further their knowledge and skills in these areas. Experience with CMS and/or Wordpress is helpful but not mandatory.
