Description

Great Southern Publishers, Inc., dba 365 Degree Total Marketing, is a destination magazine and marketing company in St. Simons Island, Georgia, welcoming interns. Days and length of the internship are flexible to be worked out with the managing editor, but must be at least 20 hours per week, but a full 40-hour week is available. The internship is unpaid, but we can guarantee valuable real-world experience in the field, not filing and administrative tasks. Internships are available year-round. Location is on one of Georgia's barrier islands in a resort area; office is two blocks from the beach.

Responsibilities

Interns will primarily research, fact check, write and edit magazine sections, brochures and website copy about the various communities in Georgia and the Carolinas that we serve. Interns will be included on publication mastheads that they work on, so they will receive published copies for their portfolios. Interns will also have the opportunity to work on social media and branding campaigns, as well as video script writing and production if their backgrounds and/or interests align with those types of projects.

Requirements

Journalism students or graduates are preferred, as well as prior experience on a school or profit newspaper or magazine. Applicants must have good telephone manners, strong research documentation standards, good writing skills. All applicants must be U.S. residents (we provide no help with securing visas for international applicants) and must be able to support themselves financially for the duration of the internship.

Skills

Required - Microsoft Office Applications
