DescriptionWe are an integrated lifestyle communications agency focused on premium brands. Our multi-channel approach brings together expertise in brand strategy, PR, social media, influencer and experiential marketing to create campaigns tailored to our clients' business goals.
This hands-on public relations and marketing internship encompasses nightlife, food, & beverage, hospitality, fashion and design industries. As our intern you will be matched with a team member who will act as your mentor as you are given projects and tasks to complete over the course of your program. You will see how our integrated team brings campaigns to life, from start to finish, before they hit the market. Interns are also invited to sit in on internal seminars from topics ranging from cutting edge social media practices to Fashion Week event management.
The position requires basic computer skills, strong written and verbal skills and a working knowledge of database administration. Applicants must be social and stylish- someone who has a variety of interests and a strong background in communications. Applicants must be self-motivated and ready to dive right into tasks--confidence and proactive thinking are essential characteristics for the successful candidate. Applicants must be able to conduct themselves professionally, think creatively and possess a high attention to detail. Only applicants that display true professionalism and maturity will be considered for this opportunity.
We can provide evaluations for school credit. However, please note that this is an unpaid internship with no travel stipend.
ResponsibilitiesTasks include, but are not limited to:
+ Clipping media placements/online coverage reports
+ Maintaining SMG's contact database
+ Account support
+ Preparing daily roundup and compiling industry events
+ Researching trends and innovative campaigns
+ Errands and magazine purchases
+ General office assistance
+ Assisting at special events
RequirementsApplicants should possess:
+ Excellent research and analytic skills
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Organizational skills from start to end of a project
+ Programming/tech skills not required but a plus
+ Strong first-hand understanding of the digital space and social media
+ Experience in the fashion, hospitality, and/or drinks industry is a plus
