DescriptionWHO: A smart, self-motivated writer in the Baltimore area with a passion for kids and education.
WHAT: A 2-3 day/week editorial internship supporting Baltimore's Child, a free parenting magazine for families in Baltimore and the surrounding counties. Interns write and fact-check articles for print and online publication, maintain the events calendar, and perform various administrative tasks as needed.
WHEN: We accept interns on a rolling basis and during the fall, spring and summer semesters.
WHERE: Owings Mills, Md. Remote internships will be considered only on very rare occasions.

Responsibilities+ Pitch, edit and write multiple stories per week for Baltimore's Child magazine and website
+ Find and write up local events for the print and online calendar
+ Fact-check stories for Baltimore's Child and our sister publication, Baltimore STYLE magazine
+ Various administrative tasks (mailing, scanning, etc.) as needed
Requirements+ Must be pursuing a degree in Journalism, English, or a related field
+ Must have consistent means of transportation to our Owings Mills office
+ Must be a self-starter, reliable, and deadline-oriented
+ Must be passionate about elementary and middle-school aged children and issues of education, parenting and more
