DescriptionURBAN Magazine is an urban entertainment media outlet covering culture, music, fashion and sports as they relate to our urban audience. Targeting both men and women between the ages of 18 and 34, our readership embodies the largest marketing segment for consumer related products.
After years of thorough research and contributing to the best-selling urban entertainment magazines (King, XXL, The Source, Vibe,etc) under his pseudonym, Publisher/Editor in Chief BE’N ORIGINAL has developed a foundation that embodies their best attributes.
URBAN differentiates from other entertainment related media by covering the various facets of the urban lifestyle in a manner that is not only reader friendly but also well received equally, by both male and female audiences. This is greatly due to our writing pool which includes several of the most talented writers across the country, offering a broad range of perspectives for our audience’s reading pleasure. Our editorial staff not only writes about the urban lifestyle, we live it.
Editorial interns will contribute original editorial content including news pieces on a daily basis.
Responsibilities- Daily responsibilities include contributing two (2) entertainment-related news piece (150-300 words) to be featured by 9 AM the following morning (10 written pieces are the weekly expectation). News pieces can focus on an array of topics including, but not limited to: music reviews, up-to-date news (film, music, sports, etc.), interviews (when applicable), etc.
- Proofreading, basic copyediting.
- Work on special projects, as needed
Requirements- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, English, business communications, or communication arts.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with keen attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Word.
In order to contribute effectively, you will need the following materials:
1. A recording device
2. Daily internet access
3. A cell phone
