Description

CPAU (Cooperation for Peace and Unity) is an Afghanistan-based NGO and is recruiting International Interns to join our team and support our efforts. Twan Media Productions is project of CPAU International promoting social change and education through Media platforms. As part of T’wan Media Productions Creative Team, a Media Intern is to help research, plan and implement how CPAU can best represent our brand or image to the media and to the public. The Intern will undertake intensive research on CPAU/T’wan and, using their research and mapping abilities of the media environment, discover opportunities for promoting our brand and image. The Intern will also be involved to deal with public controversies and crisis-management.

Responsibilities

Specific activities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Mapping opportunities for CPAU in media environment
• Writing and distributing media releases
• Writing speeches that are representative of the style and voices of the organization
• Liaising with media and public affairs representatives within and outside the organisation
• Feasibilities for media initiatives
• Providing reports on relevant or topical issues and advice on how to react
• Help managing campaigns, sometimes in partnership with advertising and marketing professionals
• Establishing positive relationships with journalists, editors and bloggers
• Attending networking and social events

Requirements

• Master’s Degree or above in the Media or Business or a related disciplines (or currently enrolled in a Master’s or above programme)
• A good knowledge of IT and Social Media
• Excellent oral and written English
• Experience in public relations or research projects is an asset
• Experience working in an Islamic, conflict/post-conflict, South Asian or Central Asian context is an asset
