DescriptionJoin the Lockett In News (LIN) Internship Team!
LIN is a new news service. LIN dares to take journalism back to the who, what, when where
and why. We seek talented students to work in internship positions throughout the
organization. We train our interns to help them develop essential professional skills and we
encourage them to network with staff and individuals within their profession.
Our Spring 2016 semester still has openings.
Our Summer 2016 semester begins June 1-July 1, 2016.
The application deadline for Summer 2016 is June 27, 2016.
Internship Program Information
The internship program is designed to provide students and recent graduates with an
opportunity to learn about broadcasting and the supporting areas of LIN.
Eligibility: A candidate should be a college student or have a college degree. We also hold
select opportunities open for those who have the ability without the education. Internship
applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
General Information: Interns are expected to work flexible hours during an 8-to-10 week
internship period. Internships are offered during the Summer, Fall, and Winter/Spring
semesters. Interns may receive academic credit if an agreement is made between the LIN and
the intern's college or university. All interns are subject to the applicable LIN employee rules.
Application Procedures: Candidates must complete an Managing Editor. Some internship
positions require additional application items, such as a writing sample. All application items
must be submitted as a complete package. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Responsibilities- Assist with editorial projects and provide support to the Editors
- Proofreading both hard and electronic files, basic copyediting, and writing of proposals and reports;
- Assisting with or proofing of basic ads, flyers, brochures, invitations, etc.
- Work on special projects, as needed
Requirements- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, English, business communications, or communication arts.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with keen attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience/interest in Web maintenance
- Familiarity with Adobe In Design and Adobe Acrobat is a plus
