Description

This is for an internship for 2017. Do you want to be part of a new and growing nation-wide health initiative? Create innovative film, video, photo images using research, projects, and campaigns that influence thousands of people. Skinny Gene Project is unlike your typical 501c (3) non-profit. We are the first in San Diego County to be awarded Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) FULL Recognition as a provider of the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP). We are partnered with the CDC to deliver the program and continually collaborate with other local and state organizations to increase our reach.

Responsibilities

-Create video and photographic communications and contribute to planning and storyboarding
-Create the end-to-end process from storyboarding to logistics to shooting to editing and publishing
-Film video and shoot photographs in studio and/or field environments
-Record desktop computer screens and actions for demo and training videos
-Use existing original and stock footage to produce new videos
-Create mixing and editing of polished and engaging videos
-Publish videos and touch-up still photography
-Collaborate in creating social media and YouTube campaigns, online promotions, etc.
-Provide support to other media efforts to target new audiences.

Requirements

-Working towards and/or recent graduates in a BA/BS/Graduate or Certificate in a media or related field of study
-Minimum of 3 months and a minimum 15 hour/week commitment with a possibility of extension.
-Academic credit for the internship is at the discretion of your college, or university.
-The internship can provide outstanding background for students from a number of different fields of study. Skinny Gene will consider applicants without a media background and will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
-Have the potential to deliver videos and photos that succinctly and clearly tell the desired story
-Ability to deliver videos with cuts, graphics, sound and other elements that convey a quality production value and a level of technical sophistication
-Experience with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Captivate and Adobe Photoshop
-Knowledge of digital videography and photography cameras and equipment
-Creativity, flexibility, & adaptability
-Be able to work independently, with initial guidance
