Description

Boulevards New Media Inc. is accepting applications from students seeking a career in journalism, marketing, social media or a related field for its internship program.

The internship program has several areas of editorial emphasis including news, music & nightlife, visual/performance arts, social media and photography.

Interns receive hands-on experience writing articles, updating content on professional websites, covering events, maintaining a social media strategy, and more.

The program requires a commitment of approximately 10-20 hours per week for at least 10 weeks. Interns work closely with experienced professionals and are given feedback throughout the internship and at its conclusion.

In order to ensure the educational benefit of the internship, we work with each individual to set goals at the outset. These include quantifiable, specific targets and also broader educational objectives.

To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume and writing/photo samples. The internship is unpaid and only open to students eligible for school credit. On-site hours are available at our offices in San Francisco and San Jose.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Managing site content, including calendar, category descriptions, articles and guides.
-Pitching article ideas
-Interviewing local taste makers for articles
-Pitching ideas for content
-Attending events for coverage
-Updating social media sites

Requirements

Must be enrolled in a college or university and eligible for school credit for work completed with the internship program.
