DescriptionWith offices in Santa Monica and Boston, Brickyard VFX is a growing, artist owned and operated, visual effects studio - creating high-end visual effects for advertisements, feature films, documentaries and web content. Our visual effects internship is geared towards aspiring artists with a background in computer animation or computer graphics, and aspiring producers who have a background in film studies and or post-production. Post-production experience is not required but preferred.
Brickyard’s internship is intended to further understanding of all elements of video post-production. We make sure that we provide opportunities for interns to shadow and spend one on one time with professional motion graphics artists. Interns will get to see first hand a professional visual effects pipeline and a breakdown of complex shots in the midst of active projects. From start to finish, interns are immersed in the process of making visual effects for on air commercials.
Brickyard’s compositors and computer animators are well versed with a number of programs, including Autodesk Flame and Maya. We encourage interns to stay pro-active and watch video tutorials that we provide to expand their repertoire of compositing programs.
Brickyard interns get to work in a unique and creative production environment with the support and guidance of industry professionals. Interns are required but not limited to work 8 hours per week (one full day 9am-5pm). The ultimate goal of the internship is to teach students new skills in compositing programs, provide hands on learning of video post-production techniques, enhancing their reel and resume with experience and developed visual effects shots, teaching professional office skills and providing an opportunity to gain a fresh perspective of working in a professional VFX studio.
