Description

CRUZ Reporter Internships (2)
Feb 1 – May 22, 2015
Non-paid internship
CRUZ-TV is a community television station serving Santa Cruz county with studios in Santa Cruz.
CRUZ-TV offers production internships to qualified students interested in a career in television journalism. These unpaid internships provide students with a working knowledge of small market local coverage. Since federal law requires interns to be compensated, they must insure their sponsoring institution will grant them academic credit for their time here. Prospective interns must also meet requirements set by CRUZ-TV.
Interns will work on programming about current events, sports and arts. They will report, write, shoot and edit stories as well as operate cameras on multi-camera productions.
Due to the high level of hands on participation our interns experience, we prefer students who have completed basic video production courses. At the end of the internship, interns will have a nice collection of televised work. CRUZ-TV will provide a written evaluation of the intern's work and an assessment conference with the student and faculty adviser upon request.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Report, shoot and edit athlete profiles and sports stories
Operate a camera on multi-camera shoot
Report, shoot and edit current affairs, arts and sports stories
