Description

kweliTV, a start-up streaming network with indie films, documentaries, web shows and news programming dedicated to the stories and culture of the global black community, seeks a TV/Film Intern who is looking to learn and develop his/her their media skills. Responsibilities

Intern duties would include: producing video & audio stories for the web, research social issues relevant to to help create news video packages, shoot & edit video, update kweliTV's social media platforms, manage twitter chats, and write a weekly Q&A on the filmmakers featured on kweliTV.

Requirements

The right candidate should currently be pursuing a degree (at the sophomore, junior or senior level) in Journalism, Communications or Film and have an interest in socially-conscious topics/issues. Candidates must be committed, responsible and highly organized. Intern must have flawless grammar and spelling skills, be detail and deadline-oriented. Positions demand attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working for a college TV station, student film project, newspaper or previous internship is desired. Experience shooting film, using video editing software, and producing multimedia packages are strongly desired.

You must live in the Washington, DC region.
