DescriptionProject GirlSpire is a global initiative that has created a platform to promote sisterhood, female empowerment, and the equal rights and treatment of women and girls by telling their stories and exploring their art.
Our blog/website publishes original content about issues affecting girls and women globally, spotlighting amazing women and girls, and all things girl-related. Project GirlSpire has put together an anthology of short stories, written by female authors from around the world.
We are in the process of diversifying the content we create, with a focus on interviewing women and girls, who do amazing things. One series that is picking up steam is a series called #NoteToSelf, an interview series featuring successful women from around the world that uncovers who they were at 15 and what message they would have for their 15 year-old self.
We're looking for a creative and tenacious assistant/co-producer to find potential interviewees/events in the New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and D.C. areas and contact them about possibly being interviewed. Someone who actively goes out into communities and on social media to find girl + women entrepreneurs and changemakers.
Responsibilities-Researching possible stories/interviewees
-Contacting possible interviewees and sponsors about being interviewed by Project GirlSpire
-Managing social media pages.
-Taking photos/interviews for the blog/social media
-Contact up and coming designers, brands, and stylists about working with us on shoots
-Writing pieces for the site regularly.
-Recruiting contributors for the site.
-Covering local events.
-Live tweeting/live video for Facebook and Periscope.
RequirementsTo fill this role, you must:
-Be Tech savvy
-Have blogging, PR, event, and/or press experience.
-Own a camera and know how to operate it
-Pay great attention to details and be efficient
-Be familiar with what's going on in the community and the world at large.
-Be creative and have great interest in the arts.
- Be comfortable in front of the camera as well as behind the camera.
-Know about events and activities that Project GirlSpire can attend and/or be a part of.
-Have an artistic eye, be a risk-taker, and be a pop-culture enthusiast.
-Be professional and active pursue leads and pursue potential partners and sponsorship.
-Have strong administrative skills.
-Actively search for opportunities for Project GirlSpire (events, features, etc.)
