DescriptionCeltic Healthcare offers home health and hospice services to patients throughout Northern/Central Illinois. The hospice team is offering an internship position to a Pre-Physician Assistant student with an interest in geriatric or palliative care. As hospice volunteers, students get first-hand experience with patient and family support, an understanding of the hospice philosophy and approach to clinical care, and a deeper understanding of how hospice care addresses pain and symptom management. Additionally, interns are invited to attend our interdisciplinary team meetings, where they hear first-hand how our team creates, reviews, and revises patients’ plans of care.
A student intern will shadow and support our interdisciplinary team by visiting patients, attending interdisciplinary meetings, and attending networking events. Interns will work with members of Celtic's interdisciplinary team, including the medical director/MD, RN case managers, home health aides, chaplains, social workers, and volunteers.
Celtic Healthcare's regional office is located in Shiloh. Internships are available for Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters.
