DescriptionThe Museum of the City of New York is a private, not-for-profit, educational institution founded in 1923 for the purpose of presenting the history of New York City. The Museum celebrates and interprets the city, educating the public about its distinctive character, especially its heritage of diversity, opportunity, and perpetual transformation. The Museum's permanent and temporary exhibitions, in coordination with educational programming and publications, reflect the complexity of the history of New York City, the scope and depth of the Museum's collections, and the diversity of its audience.
ResponsibilitiesThe Museum offers fall, spring and summer internships for college graduates and graduate students in areas such as Collections, Development, Education, Finance, Graphic Design, Group Tours, Marketing, Public Programs and Visitor Services. Acceptance into the Museum of the City of New York internship program is based on academic achievement, experience, interests and availability. Time commitments are flexible and are guided by department needs. Internships are unpaid.
