Want to help preserve history?

The collections volunteer/intern works with the Curator of Collections Management to process, catalog, and research historical objects and artwork from a variety of time periods. We are happy to tailor this volunteer position to your specific interests and there may be an opportunity to help with exhibit installation. Training on object handling and data management systems will be given.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
•ability to use a computer (typing, emailing, internet)
•ability to write small/sew labels
•ability to lift 20 lbs or less

•people person
•appetite for learning
•willingness to be involved and dedicated to the Collections Team
•takes direction well
•high level of energy and enthusiasm
•ability to work with various ages
•interest in history and/or the arts
•interest in research
•writing skills
•organizational skills
•previous experience/education with collections management
