DescriptionThe Worthington Historical Society, a non-profit organization, owns three properties in Worthington – a Hopewell Indian Mound, The Orange Johnson House, which is an 1811/1819 home that operates as a museum, and The Old Rectory, (c 1845) which houses a Doll Museum, our gift shop and our administrative offices and archives. . The Society hosts numerous educational events, tours and exhibits each year. We are actively growing our programs and membership. Over 150 volunteers have contributed over 4000 hours in donated time towards the events through October of 2014.
The Worthington Historical Society is accepting resumes for a 2015 Winter/Spring Collections/Archival Intern. The Society is looking for a candidate to assist with ongoing inventory and digitization of our records on PastPerfect Museum Software. The position will require data entry, image management, and organizing digital files to be accessible for research. Some research of archives and transcription of documents also possible. Candidates may also have the opportunity to assist with exhibit planning and installation, programming and events, based on interest. This position is 10-20 hours a week and is unpaid. The Society can work with candidate to find a schedule that fits the needs of both parties.
