DescriptionFounded in 1997 the Suzuki Music School of Westport is a nonprofit community school with approximately 300 students offering instruction in violin, viola, cello, flute, guitar, voice and piano lessons as well as early childhood education, chamber ensembles and music theory to the southern Connecticut region. The school is run as a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors, Music Director and administrative staff. SMSW has 25 professional, dedicated teachers trained in the Suzuki Method and highly experienced as both teachers and performers. Each year the school supports faculty to pursue professional renewal through training courses in their instrument. We are located in an attractive and well-maintained facility and emphasize a friendly and pleasant working atmosphere with many diverse events throughout the year. SMSW offers fall, spring and summer semesters that run in tandem with the Westport school system.

ResponsibilitiesCoordinating with office manager and handling administrative tasks such as data entry, answering telephones, scheduling and management of the school. Must be able to use Microsoft Office including excel, access, publisher and word. Must be good with children. Detail oriented self-starter with excellent work ethic.
RequirementsWe are seeking an office intern who will be involved in all aspects of administration at the Suzuki Music School of Westport. A university student who is willing to work in exchange for college credit would be ideal. Interest in business administration, music or education preferred.
This internship will be available for the spring or summer semester for approximately 10-15 hours/week. (Schedule and hours are flexible.)
