Description

Playing For Change is an international organization on the mission of connecting the world and promoting peace through music.

We are looking for Interns to help us with our office operation​s​ such as ​administration, ​communications, marketing, merchandise and social media. We are a small team and Interns will have the ​opportunity ​to ​interact with everyone ​o​n the team and ​be​​ involved in all areas​ of the organization​.








Responsibilities

• Communication with Playing For Change community
o Social media
o Email
o Website
o Mailchimp
• The Movement, PFC CD/DVD and Band Tour Marketing
o Social media marketing strategy
o Present and follow up on promotion ideas
o Assist in managing national/international street teams
• Office Administration
o Assembling packages
o Errands to post office, Fedex, etc.
o Preparing notes and minutes from Skype calls and meetings
o Ordering supplies
• Special Events, including:
o Promoting PFC Band concerts online and as a street team member
o Attending an occasional event and assisting with set-up, presentations, materials
• Other
o Research future projects and potential partnerships
o Assist with media collection and archiving (photos, videos, etc)
o Organizational tasks such as maintaining PFC musician database, maintaining inventory, keeping team members on track, etc.

Requirements

• Interest in career in Marketing, Communications, Music, International Relations, or related field (experience working in these fields is a plus)
• Must have your own laptop with strong computer skills (Mac or PC)
o Proficient in Word, Excel, Adobe Reader (Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign) is a plus
o Able to quickly learn new systems
• Strong internet skills
o Experience with social media networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc)
o Familiarity with internet sharing sites such as Flickr, YouTube, Vimeo
o Experience with WordPress/website work is a plus
o Efficient web browsing and research is necessary
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative, exciting environment
• Must be able to multi-task and remain flexible with day-to-day responsibilities
• Available 15-25 hours per week for a minimum of 4 months. Must live in the Los Angeles area.
• Ability to work well in a team as well as independently
• Love for music and the arts!
