WGAC Internship

Job description

The West GA Arts Conservatory, located in Hiram, Ga., is in need of an intern for a three-month contract starting in January. Qualified applicants will be highly motivated, self-starters with an interest in the music industry or music education.

Candidates will be expected to spend a minimum of 10 hours per week at WGAC. Hours are flexible, but all work must be completed during regular WGAC operating times.

Quality interns may be considered for extension of contract or employment after completion.

Responsibilities

• Studio duties
o Online marketing to acquire new studio business (ReverbNation, NuMubu, Soundbetter, Elance, oDesk, etc.)
o Assisting lead engineer with recording/mixing when necessary
o Aiding in outside live events as road crew/production assistant

• Office duties
o Answering phone
o Talking to potential walk-in customers
o Responding to questions about and handling Music and Arts rentals/returns

• Social media
o Creating content for Facebook and Twitter
o Researching and writing blog posts

Benefits

For every 30 hours worked, candidates will receive 10 hours of studio time to be scheduled during off-peak hours. (Paid FP recording sessions always take priority over intern studio hours.) Interns are welcome to self-engineer, or bring in their own teams. However, Luke Johnson will engineer all sessions, if necessary.

Interns will be paid contract rates for all outside live events.

All benefits associated with this internship will expire 1 month after final date.

Preferably someone with music production experience but not required.
