DescriptionReports To: Volunteer & Internship Manager
Dates: This internship is offered year round.
Save The Bay has a robust volunteer program, working with over 2,100 volunteers annually in a variety of capacities. An internship in the volunteer program will provide students with the skills to organize events, manage & recognize volunteers, promote volunteer opportunities and internships, oversee outreach projects and events, manage individual volunteer programs, and coordinate efforts with a diverse staff. The position will serve as an assistant to the Volunteer Manager and Administrative team working on Save The Bay’s various volunteer events and programs. The intern will assist with the planning and implementation of the CVS/Caremark Charity Classic, Save The Bay Swim, Earth Day, Shoreline & Community Cleanups, Storm Drain Markings, Internships and other events. This internship will also assist with the general day-to-day administrative support that is required to keep a volunteer program at a non-profit running.

ResponsibilitiesOrganizing volunteer events such as beach cleanups
Assisting with data entry, filing, research, writing and other projects as needed
Assist in the organization, planning and implementation of various events and programs for Save The Bay volunteers
Assisting with the promotion of volunteer and internship opportunities
Contacting volunteers before and after events
RequirementsApplicants must be enrolled in an accredited college/university during the term of the internship. Graduate students, recent college graduates, and individuals looking to fill an employment gap are also eligible for internship opportunities. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher out of 4.0.
Excellent writing and communication skills
Comfortable speaking to groups and making contact with the general public on Save The Bay’s behalf.
Well-organized and efficient
Willing to do some manual labor, lifting, and get dirty
Individuals with experience and background in some aspect of non-profit management are preferred.
General office skills including proficiency with computers and the Internet (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Explorer).
Experience with Raiser’s Edge software is a plus!
A positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
Must have ability to occasionally work independently and have initiative
Availability to work on some weekends
