The National Bar Association is the nation's oldest and largest association of predominantly African-American lawyers, judges, educators and law students. It has 84 affiliate chapters throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Africa and the Caribbean. It represents a professional network of more than 65,000 lawyers, educators and law students.
OPPORTUNITY: The National Bar Association is seeking applicants for its Student Internship Program. The NBA is presently looking for law students, undergraduate students and highly qualified high school students. Interns will have an opportunity to learn about the important work of the National Bar Association and its members from the Executive team and members of the Board of Governors. The internship will provide students with real world experience in association management, researching legal issues, writing memoranda, responding to member requests, event planning and issue advocacy.
Students perusing an education in legal studies, communications, marketing, business management or administration, accounting, graphic design, print and or web design are encouraged to apply.
The internship will include:
-A roundtable luncheon with Executive Team Members and members of the Board of Governors to explore future employment options.
-Possible attendance at an NBA Board of Governors or Executive Committee meeting.
-Training opportunities designed to assist interns in skill development.
-The student selected will have the opportunity to begin their work experience in the fall of 2016 and continue through May 2017.
