CHICA is a nonprofit organization based in Massachusetts targeting Latinas ages 14-17 years old. Its mission is to educate, empower and employ young Latinas to succeed! The program includes leadership development, mentoring and life skills workshops as well as paid/unpaid summer internships. As a fast-growing organization it looks for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who is excited to create an organization during its start-up phase and is capable of working in a rapid environment.


INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Founder and Program Director, the intern will participate in all administrative duties. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Stakeholder Engagement
? Maintain database of contacts
? Conduct follow-up calls and maintain relationships Development
? Conduct grant research, analyze, and provide recommendations for grant opportunities ? Depending on skill set and interest, draft grant applications
? Opportunities exist to strengthen donor engagement and relationships
Program Development
? Coordinate monthly meetings for the participants
? Reach out to interested guest speakers Communications
? Create and develop social media including Facebook and Twitter ? Update and maintain website


BACKGROUND NEEDED: Common sense, self-starter, positive attitude, sense of humor, and the passion to build young Latinas! This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a fast- growing organization.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to communicate with
diverse populations
• Professional demeanor
• Laptop and mobile device
• Experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint programs
• Well organized with attention to detail and ability to carry out tasks independently
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Independent transportation is a plus
• Required GPA of 2.5 +
SCHEDULE: Minimum commitment: 20 hours/month. Intern will have opportunities to participate in networking events, special luncheons and seminars
