DescriptionFor their Washington DC office, the California Hydrogen Business Council has a full-time opening for a student or recent graduate with writing and communications experience.
The California Hydrogen Business Council (https://www.californiahydrogen.org/) links hydrogen technology developments, businesses, energy leaders, government and infrastructure providers with a common vision of clean energy and transportation fueled by hydrogen. Our members implement and use technology and services that are taking the hydrogen economy into the mainstream. Our goals are to:
Promote growth of the hydrogen business economy
Provide hydrogen business information
Create a forum that facilitates strategic alliances
Encourage customers to adopt hydrogen products in their businesses
Provide access to regulatory bodies
Assist members with education and information
40 hours a week.
CHBC will provide a stipend of $500/month for full-time work, paid in bi-monthly installments. CHBC does not provide compensation for personal/sick time off or holidays, but fellows may opt to make up lost hours or be paid on an hourly basis for partial weeks worked.
CHBC is open Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm. Through the term, we are closed on Presidents’ Day (February 17).

Education & Outreach
o Researching projects and developments in the hydrogen and fuel cell industry in California
o Assisting staff in developing and promoting California-based events related to hydrogen and fuel cell technology
o Assist in event preparation and logistics.
Social Media Support
o Collecting and reviewing existing education materials on hydrogen and fuel cells in California
o Promote activities on common social media platforms
o Assistance with communications and promotion of the current and next HEF’s Hydrogen Student Design Contest (www.hydrogencontest.org)
o Interaction with participating students, professors and judges to raise awareness on the Contest, develop communications and drive participation in the annual contest
o Assist senior staff preparation of Board/Committee meetings and take minutes of proceedings.
o Engage in communication campaigns such as social media, webinars, action alerts to members.
o Process mail orders for publications sold.
o Maintain online membership directory and ensure contact information is kept up to date.
o Assist editor to publish newsletter.
o Prepare and distribute association-wide announcements.
RequirementsThe ideal candidates should have well developed writing skills and preferably some Marketing/Communications experience. Knowledge in energy is a plus. The candidates should also be assertive, detail oriented, and able to work independently and perform well with firm deadlines.
