DescriptionCommunity Family Life Services (CFLS) is a non-profit which serves the low-income and homeless families and individuals living in Washington, D.C. Our mission is to provide clients with the tools they need to move themselves beyond poverty and homelessness into permanent self-sufficiency by 1) providing short-term crisis assistance, and (2) empowering individuals and families to change their lives over the long term. Our holistic approach provides clients with education, skills, and support from a committed staff, enabling each client to pursue his/her goals.
CFLS is seeking summer and fall interns to assist with communications and marketing. The Intern’s duties will include writing grant proposals, conducting foundation research, posting on our social media sites, and managing our monthly newsletter. An ideal candidate would be an intelligent, talented undergraduate or graduate student studying Communications or Development. Excellent writing, communication, organizational, and computer skills are all essential. Experience with Twitter, Facebook, MailChimp, and graphic design would also be greatly desired.
