DescriptionLLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services. The Donor Development intern reports to the Director of Individual Giving and Foundation Relations and the Donor Development Administrative Manager. She/he will be responsible for donor and foundation research, donor profile maintenance and donor communication creative pieces. As a department that supports chapter-wide initiatives, this internship offers the unique opportunity to work with and experience various campaigns and aspects of the nonprofit work environment.
ResponsibilitiesConduct research on individual donors, foundations and corporations to identify and qualify prospective leads. Assist with relationship management and building by making phone calls, sending thank you notes and providing information about LLS to donors and prospective donors. Collaborate with staff to develop and implement communication tools (various mediums). Perform other related tasks as assigned.
RequirementsMust be enrolled in a two-or-four-year institution and demonstrate excellent academic progress. Strong written and excellent verbal communication skills. Strong organization skills and the ability to adapt to new assignments and deadlines. Ability to work in a team environment while also possesses the ability to work independently. Strong proficiency and understanding of MS Office and social networking tools. Must be able to commit to a three-month unpaind internship epxerience working at least (15) hours per week. Must have reliable transportation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Southland Chapter offices near the Los Angeles International Airport.
