As You Sow is a nonprofit organization that promotes environmental and social responsibility through corporate dialogue, shareholder advocacy, and innovative legal strategies. Founded in 1992, we are one of the nation's leading practitioners of shareholder advocacy, moving companies to take greater responsibility for the social and environmental impact of their operations. We mobilize investor coalitions, engage in dialogue with companies, provide technical consulting, file shareholder resolutions, and conduct unique shareholder solicitation initiatives to raise awareness and promote more responsible corporate behavior.

A new component of As You Sow’s Power of the Proxy Program, the Executive Compensation initiative http://www.asyousow.org/our-work/power-of-the-proxy/executive-compensation/ encourages shareholders to use the Power of the Proxy to better control and reduce unjustified CEO pay and to create greater equity in compensation across all publicly traded US companies. Our goal is to help shareholders, including mutual funds, pensions, foundation, endowments, and individuals to create proactive change in a broken system. The internship will provide first-hand experience with guideline analysis, evaluating proxy statements and shareholder proposals. Intern will support the Program Manager, who works remotely, so will have minimal direct supervision and will need excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.

We encourage all applicants to review our website before applying. Applications will be accepted through September 28th. Please send your resume and cover letter containing a brief memo of interest to interns@asyousow.org. Please include “Executive Compensation Intern” in the subject line of your email.

We thank all applicants for your interest. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
