Storman is a high school preparatory which emphasizes strong academics and individual attention to every student within the school is our approach. Students are expected to seek higher education. We are seeking assistance with creating new marketing resources and developing a needs assessment around current and future marketing practices. As a small growing nonprofit, our needs are changing.
ResponsibilitiesThe Grant Writing Assistant internship is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to develop his/her writing and communication skills. The Grant Writing Assistant Intern will have the opportunity to shape and grow the Academy’s growing grant department. Projects vary and include, but are not limited to, grant research, specific areas of research of each foundation that is a good fit: looking through each foundation to know the background of the organizations they have funded in the past, including projects funded and the amount that was funded; look closely at eligibility requirements designed by each foundation; prepare grant proposals; develop and respond to grant opportunities; research for major sponsorship opportunities; sponsor, donor, and vendor stewardship; use grant research tools to find appropriate grants; serve as liaison for Storman Academy in regards to outside funding; communicate with Storman team; give grant updates regularly. The Grant Writing Assistant will be charged with: affirming and supporting the mission of Storman Academy; abiding by all budget allocations; communicating openly and respectfully to coworkers; maintaining integrity in both private and public life. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to learn more about the inner workings of grant writing within a non-profit organization.
