Job Description
Healthy Body Healthy Life is looking for a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. Our non-profit is quickly expanding and we are seeking an intern to help us in the public relations field. This intern should be prepared to spread the word about HBHL, reach out to existing contacts, make new contacts, and find opportunities for publicity. In addition, they will be expected to prepare and review public release statements and articles, among other things.

This intern should be prepared to work a minimum of 10 hours per week. The benefits of this position include gaining experience in public relations, working with a non-profit organization, developing local community contacts, and health/wellness knowledge that will last a lifetime.

Responsibilities

Monitor all forms of media
Schedule and coordinate speaking engagements, appearances, and other special events
Assist in the writing of press releases and other materials
Screen and respond to phone calls/emails
Support website/social media efforts
Assist with mailings and print production
Compile contact lists and organize files
Search for press clippings
Contact local community organizations for partnership opportunities

Requirements

HBHL is looking for an undergraduate or graduate student in the DC area who has experience or education in Public Relations. This person should have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Microsoft skills (powerpoint, word, excel) are required. Individuals outside of the DC area can still apply, on a case by case basis.
