DescriptionThis is a new non-profit and we need a spectacular driven Research Assistant to assist with the legal aspects of a non-profit. Ideally this is for a Law Student looking to work in the non-profit sector and gain experience. We are accepting applications from both undergrad and grad students.
Experience necessary. This is perfect for a college student looking to build up their portfolio while making a positive difference. You should have a good basic working understanding of non-profit law, logistics, and the differences between non-profit, for-profits, and working as both (think Toms or FEED).
ResponsibilitiesRESEARCH WILL INCLUDE:
Creating templates and contracts we will use for our brand partners
Creating non-profit events in conjunction with our Event Board
Events taking place abroad. The first will be Machu Picchu in Peru in the Fall 2014
Research on Trademarks and Copyright Law for use of intellectual property and products/goods used in raising money.
Securing, coordinating, and executing sponsorships
Working with our attorneys
You will be expected to complete tasks on a weekly basis.
In addition, we would love to hear your thoughts. We want you to come up with a marketing strategy, head up all legal affairs, and really think outside the box.
This is a virtual position, but if in the LA area, we'd love for you to come to our Board meetings, and be involved with events. We are looking for someone for 6 months or longer.
RequirementsMust be enrolled in college. We are giving college credit. You will be working in tandem with our Social Media Community Manager and Board of Directors, including the Event Board, to make sure our events are in line with the law, as well as helping brand and cross-promote with like-minded companies.
We are looking for initiative, and someone to create something from little direction. Efficiency is key to success.
