DescriptionLifebeat, a non-profit dedicated to HIV/AIDS prevention through music seeks a dedicated intern with lots of energy to assist us this Fall. Lifebeat mobilizes the talents and resources of the music industry to raise awareness and to provide support to the AIDS community.
ResponsibilitiesGeneral Office Duties:
-Provide administrative support for the office by facilitating correspondence, word processing, data input, sending and receiving faxes and answering requests for information to this office
-Keep our social networking pages relevant, factual and fun
-Prepare info and materials that help save lives
-Ad hoc research via the Internet and social media properties including Facebook, MySpace etc.
Special Events & Development:
-Cultivate and maintain industry relationships (management and artists)
-Planning and execution of special events (securing venues, sponsorship, ticketing, etc.)
-Securing and organizing items for charity auctions
-Assist with national & local outreach
-Flex your research muscle by scouring the Internet, magazines and newspapers for upcoming shows, music festivals and community events
-Reach out to entertainers/management to get them involved in the fight against HIV
-Prepare daily/weekly updates on trends in HIV prevention and outreach
-Connect with the greater NYC community
Hearts & Voices:
-Researching new leads for artist outreach via online and offline sources (Internet, meeting artists in-person)
Assisting with the production of Hearts & Voices special events
Traveling to off-site to shows
-Assisting with production of our regular concerts
-Videotaping performances and obtaining releases from clients.
-Editing videos and uploading to the Lifebeat YouTube page, Facebook page, etc.

Internet savvy (have a minor addiction to blogging and social networks)
Proficient in Microsoft Office and have experience with Photoshop, Illustrator and some HTML
