DescriptionWe are looking for passionate, energetic students with exceptional skills to take initiative on a range of projects. This is an outstanding leadership opportunity in an innovative start-up nonprofit organization.
The Problem and Opportunity: At the same time nonprofits don’t have enough money to meet today’s challenges, Americans spend $250 billion a year on traditional presents. Frankly, many of us to not need another pen & pencil set, fruitcake, or pair of fuzzy slippers.
Our Approach: http://ChangingThePresent.org, an exciting nonprofit website, helps nonprofits capture some of the fortune normally spent on presents. It does so by making donations, made in a friend’s name, feel like a meaningful present. If you are familiar with Heifer International, you already know how powerful that is. In fat, Heifer raises $115 million a year that way. The site offers tangible charitable opportunities (preserve an acre of the rain forest, fund an hour of cancer research, provide books for kids, etc.), personalized printed greeting cards, wish lists, registries, and more.
About Us: The Board of Advisors includes some of the most prestigious leaders in the nonprofit sector.
