Pacific Justice Institute
DescriptionPacific Justice Institute has offices located in Southern California (Rancho Santa Margarita, Santa Ana, Riverside) and Northern California (Oakland, Sacramento). We are a non-profit organization that is decidedly conservative. Our focus is to defend religious freedoms, parental rights, and other civil liberties. Positions are available at one of these locations, or you may work remotely.
We are currently seeking Media Interns for the Summer of 2014 and for the 2014-15 School Term. Positions vary in length and time requirements. We're very flexible and are willing to work with your schedule (school, work, family, etc.)
The goal of this position is to help PJI develop it's media presence including videos (ideas include short Q&A pieces, why religious freedoms matter, and other topics of interest for the community in general). We're not limited to these ideas - the ideal candidates will have inspiring and catchy ideas of their own and be able to pitch, organize, film, and edit their ideas into a cohesive project that PJI can post online and/or show at events. In the alternative, someone with great ideas for radio programs (interviews, topics, etc.) and/or photography ideas for PJI would also be a real asset.
PJI recently began outreaches to the Slavic and Korean communities, and has an established outreach to the Chinese community in Northern California. In addition to videos in English, we're also interested in producing PSA videos in Russian, Chinese, Spanish, and Korean languages that can be shown in churches and on television that highlight the services we provide, explain parental, civil, and religious liberties. Candidates working on these videos should be bilingual in English and in the language he/she is filming for PJI.
Responsibilities- This internship may involve, depending upon the skill set, activities such as video and radio production including filming, cutting, editing, and publishing.
Additional skills that may be helpful but are NOT required are:
- Final Cut Pro
- Adobe Premiere
- Adobe Captivate and Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Photoshop
- Knowledge of how to use a video camera and laptop or computer
Requirements- Must be willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement with PJI
- Must be able to work independently and/or as part of a team
- Intern should have his/her own computer or laptop and be comfortable using it
