Description826DC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Our services are structured around our understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.
ResponsibilitiesMuseum Magician’s are interns who work in 826DC’s fantastic storefront, the Museum of Unnatural History and report directly to the Executive Director. They manage inventory and store sales of products and publications, develop and create original products, manage online shipping and receiving, generate sales and increase business in the store and online, while actively promoting 826DC’s programs and events. The intern who supports this program will also work closely with our volunteer Store Clerks. This position would be great for someone with some retail experience, or who has a strong interest in business and marketing. The museum plays a crucial role in the organization – it helps us recruit students, volunteers, teachers, and is our most important community relations tool.
