DescriptionHabitat for Humanity HiawathaLand is seeking an energetic, proactive individual to fill the role of our summer Event Coordinator. The events include one salad luncheon & auction and three golf tournaments. The Salad Luncheon and first golf tournament are held locally in Manistique. The second tournament is held in Munising, and the final tournament is held in Naubinway. This position reports to the Administrative Assistant of our affiliate, but also works closely with other HFHH staff members.
This position is part-time. Approximately 15-20 hours/week. Minimal evening/weekend work.
Internship would run from May-August 2014
Responsibilities-Maintain steady contact with course managers.
-Acquire hole sponsors for each tournament.
-Acquire silent auction and raffle items for tournaments.
-Order signage, create programs, and advertise for all events.
-Keep organized records of all communication with course managers, hole sponsors, golf pass donors, etc.
-Send thank you cards to hole sponsors, golf pass donors, and silent auction & raffle donors.
-Work at all four events.
-Take pictures at all events. Post them to Facebook and our website.
-Keep records of all funds submitted for hole sponsorships.
-Recruit volunteers to assist with events.
Requirements-Must be at least 18 years or older.
-Must be well-organized, detailed oriented, and able to work well both independently and in a team environment.
-Excellent time management and communication (written & verbal) skills.
-Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook). Outlook will be used on a regular basis to communicate with the golf courses and event sponsors.
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment and respond quickly to changing conditions.
-Interest and commitment to community service and nonprofits is essential.
-Must be a licensed driver with your own insured vehicle.
