DescriptionPosition Description?- Programmatic Internship
Gulf Wild is searching for one person to fill a virtual, unpaid internship to continue to grow the Gulf Wild funding community. The position is a part time position (approximately 20 hours/week) for a duration of 6 months (with possible renewal based on availability and performance). The intern will report to the Sustainability Director and the Program Director once a week via teleconference or Skype to map out the objectives for the week and month ahead.
Gulf Wild is a non-profit brand of conservation that invests in their employees and interns by insuring they are achieving their career goals in Fishery and Seafood Sustainability. Each intern will receive full access to the Ocean Conservation Careers online course and ongoing training membership program to ensure they have the tools and skills they require to fulfill their career objectives while working at Gulf Wild or if they work somewhere else in the future.

ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities will include:?-
On-line research for funding opportunities: private foundations, NGO’s, government agencies: Maintain database which includes funder, area of focus, deadlines, contact information and relevant details, reporting upcoming deadlines to staff on a weekly basis: Match funding opportunities with programmatic priorities: Maintain and update organizational/programmatic descriptions with current program progress and metrics: Create and maintain organizational budgets for funders from current financial projections: Coordinate funding reports, to include documentation from staff members, impact measurements, and outputs per parameters of funding guidelines: Generate correspondence on behalf of the organization and program director: Coordinate with additional Gulf Wild interns for cohesive messaging published in all on-line and media outlets.
RequirementsBasic Qualifications:?- Must have a background and passion for Marine Biology, Ecology, Oceanography, Marine Conservation, Education, Environmental Science, and an interest in not-for-profit administration;?- Experience with electronic and online organizational tools;?- Experience with working with Internet tools such as Blogs (WordPress), Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, and You Tube);?- Experience with Word or Pages, Excel or Numbers, and Power Point or Keynote;?- Experience writing persuasive articles for public consumption ;?- Must be motivated with the ability to work independently; and,?- Must have access to a regular Internet connection as the position in virtual and the work is mainly conducted online.
Preferred Qualifications:?-Writing experience is a must. Experience with Google Docs;?-
