DescriptionCommunity Assistance Network, Inc. (CAN) is a local Baltimore County non-profit organization, established in 1964 as part of a national network of over 1,000 Community Action Agencies. Community Action Agencies were established over 45 years ago as part of President Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty legislation known as the 1964 Equal Opportunity Act.

CAN offers a weatherization service, local food pantries, homeless shelters, outreach programs, utility assistance, eviction prevention, and an afterschool program.
