Description

Gigniks (gigniks.org, www.youtube.com/user/GigniksCareerVideos) is looking for a smart and capable intern interested in working at a fun non-profit that’s expanding. Internship is an excellent introduction to communications, multimedia, messaging, and development for a small organization with a big mission: transforming the way career information is delivered to high school and college kids. Candidate should be ambitious, be interested in a growth experience, and have a background (or compelling interest) in at least one of the following: social media marketing, communications; journalism, video, education, non-profit management, social entrepreneurship.

The internship is open to all; however, the program is designed for undergrads, grads, and recent grads (we’ve occasionally used incredibly capable HS students). Start ASAP. The position is part-time with an expectation of 10-15 hours per week fora minimum of five months. Interns are not initially paid, but in success there is strongpotential for compensation. Requirements

Our team is highly collaborative, and your input is expected and valued. You will possess:
• Excellent writing, organizational, creative and communication skills
• Experience with multimedia formats (video, audio, text)
• Serious interest in social media, along with some knowledge of (or willingness to learn) conventional fundraising, crowd/social media funding, event planning
• Personal initiative, independence, and curiosity
• An interest in working with a creative team (mostly film & journalism students)in a fun, informal environment

You should also:
• Have a strong work ethic and sense of humor
• Be a self-starter able to take the initiative with minimal direction
• Be proactive, goal-oriented and highly organized
• Be good at researching solutions to digital and social media challenges
• Be at least somewhat proficient in Word, Excel, Keynote etc.
• Be an innovative and creative thinker, unafraid to try something new and inspire others to do so
