The Alzheimer’s Association is a non-profit health services organization providing leadership, support, education, advocacy and research for families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

The Association has 2 internship opportunities for the Spring Semester (January to May) and 1 position for the summer (May/June to August). These positions will work with our Development staff primarily focusing on our "Remembering Our Stars Gala" in the spring and our Walk to End Alzheimer's in the summer. To insure a positive experience, we do request that an intern schedule at a minimum, 3-4 partial days per week during the regular business hours (8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.). Generally our interns work 12-20 hours per week. We would also ask that the spring interns be available for the Gala on April 12, 2014 and the summer intern be available for the Walk on September 27, 2014.


The Intern would perform and gain experience in the following activities:

1. Special Event Coordination
2. Volunteer Development
3. Committee meeting management
4. Marketing
5. Media Relations
6. Public speaking engagements


1. Strong organizational skills
2. Ability to work independently
3. Good public speaking skills
4. Good interpersonal communication skills
5. Strong planning and analytical skills
6. Must have applicable coursework
7. Experience with Microsoft, Word, Excel, and Access
8. Dependability and flexibility
