Spring/Summer Internship - Gift of Life Bone Marrow FoundationBookmark This
Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation
DescriptionThe Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation is a public bone marrow and blood stem cell registry. Through its life-saving work, Gift of Life is a world leader in facilitating transplants for children and adults suffering from many life-threatening diseases, among them leukemia and lymphoma.
Gift of Life's vision for the future is simple: A match. Anytime. Anywhere. For anyone.
Please join us in a global movement to save lives.
ResponsibilitiesWe are specifically looking for college-aged interns for our Recruitment Department. Recruitment is charged with organizing registration drives throughout the nation to add potential donors to the registry. Drives are often located at universities, community centers, religious locations, etc. Our interns will aid members of the Recruitment team by pinpointing future drive locations in their area, research which areas are ripe for more registration, and reach out to potential contacts themselves.
Those selected will be able to see their work pay off in the form of life-saving matches for those in need of a bone marrow or stem cell transplant -- the ultimate answer to that inevitable question: "What did you do this summer?"
*Interested candidates should be passionate about our mission of saving the lives of those affected by blood cancers and similar life-threatening conditions.
*Since we are a national organization with a home base in South Florida, the internship will be remote, with most contact with the team occurring through email and phone. Working remotely demands that students be disciplined enough to maintain their workload.
*Internship is unpaid, but happy to work out with school if credits can be obtained through your work with us.
*Applicants should be outgoing enough to feel comfortable speaking to clients on the phone, but also comfortable enough to work alone for stretches.
