Description

The mission of the State PIRG Alumni Network is to provide services to help alumni of Public Interest Network organizations continue to make a difference.

The Public Interest Network founded more than a dozen civic organizations including: U.S. PIRG, the Federation of State Public Interest Research Groups (PIRGs); Environment America and its state affiliates; The Student Empowerment Training Project; Center for Public Interest Research; Toxics Action Center; Pesticide Watch; Green Century Capital Management; Green Corps; National Environmental Law Center; and Frontier Group. www.publicinterestnetwork.org

Over the last 40 years, the state PIRGs have served as the training ground for countless young activists and organizers. Now, alumni (former employees, volunteers, and interns) of state PIRGs and affiliated Public Interest Network organizations are everywhere: leading the nation's environmental, consumer, political reform, and social justice organizations; distinguishing themselves in government service; and working with the media, foundations, universities, the private sector, and in countless other professions. We celebrate the role of our alumni in the Public Interest Network organizations and in the greater social change movement.
