DescriptionFlorida Family Literacy Center is a community based family literacy center that provides low income and at-risk children with free tutoring who are struggling in school. We provide an after school care, mentoring and tutoring for children in grades Kindergarten to 4th Grade. We are looking for interns who are willing to learn about elementary education, remedial instruction tutoring, children's wellness programs, parental involvement, teacher-tutor collaboration and and helping children increase your achievement in their grades.
Our mission is increase student achievement by working in partnership with our schools, families and communities to provide individualized instruction with measurable results.
We envision a future where all children of our community are meeting or exceeding high academic expectations with a passion for learning and achieving.
Our center is located at 2112 Tyler Street Hollywood Florida 33020.
This program will be beginning in February month. However some important basic training will taking place the program begins.
Florida Family Literacy Center Inc. is a non-profit, charitable organization under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

ResponsibilitiesPick up students from homeroom classes of their school or wait for them at our assigned tutoring classroom.
Make sure that children are signed on time and correctly.
Give snacks and supervise snack time.
Monitor and supervise homework assignments.
Give children pre, post and progress testing.
Tutor children in Grades K- 4th by following their Individual Education and Tutoring plans.
Supervise and coordinate outdoor play time and games.
Report to lead tutor on a weekly basic or when required.
Read stories and ask comprehension questions to students
RequirementsA clean background.
High school diploma or higher education.
Able to follow directions and work without supervision.
40 hours HRS child care training or willing to begin the second week of program.
