We currently have opportunities for
• book scanning
• record cataloging
• Research for Cuba Music Week
All internships are unpaid, but we are certainly willing to help you meet any requirements to receive course credit. Time requirements are flexible--all we ask is that you are available for at least one full day (11:00-6:00) per work week. However, the more hours you are able to volunteer, the more responsibility we can give you.
ResponsibilitiesInterns while away the hours helping out with our day-to-day activities. Some of your duties will include cataloging CDs in our Filemaker Pro database, digitizing books, processing incoming donations, and researching music history. Interns may also have the opportunity to help with our biannual record sale fundraiser in June. This is always a lively event and is a major source of income for the archive. Interns who work during the sale usually receive a small stipend for lunch.
RequirementsDo you collect records? Are you an aspiring librarian, archivist or music historian? Are you organized, reliable, detail-oriented, capable of working independently and an all-around swell person? If you answered "yes!" then you are probably exactly who we are looking for.
We especially appreciate individuals with prior experience in cataloging, internet research, or data entry. Individuals with immediate or nearly-immediate availability will be given priority, but we are always looking for candidates, so if you can't begin working for a semester or two, apply anyway.
