Description

Girls in the Know is offering a 10-15 hour per week, non paid summer internship offering a
vast and extensive range of opportunities for a student who desires to make an impact in
the nonprofit arena. We are seeking a motivated and outgoing individual who has a
Marketing or Communications Major. This intern will work closely with and report to the
Chicago Program Director who resides in Glencoe. . Expectations include prospecting and
marketing the program in the Chicago suburban community along with helping the
program director recruit speakers as needed. To learn more, watch this video:

Responsibilities

Prospecting
-identify ideal demographics for marketing the program in the Chicago suburban and city markets
-network with our program graduates and new program registrants
-identify key decision makers in the school
-identify mom organizations with networking potential
-utilize local bulletin boards to advertise volunteer opportunities
-presentations to PTO, Girl Scouts, etc
-scheduling meetings both inperson and by phone
-organizing networking events

Marketing
-Developing speaker series press releases
-Engaging local media in our mission
-Managing Social media, including implementing and managing

Speaker Recruitment:
-Recruiting new professional speakers within each of the four sessions to lead the programs

Requirements

Marketing and/or communications major.

Skills

Required - English, Article Marketing, Attraction Marketing, Communications, Google Calendar, Online Social Networking, Prospecting, Coordinating Schedules, Direct Recruiting
