DescriptionOur Family Resource Center in Burnsville serves as an open, welcoming place for community members to gather, work with volunteers and staff, and plan their individual paths to success. Staff and volunteers build trusting relationships with individuals and families in order to identify and remove barriers to help long-term self-sufficiency. Additionally, our network of five food shelves provide immediate aid to individuals and families and gives them access to resources to help them reach long-term self-sufficiency.
This internship is located at 501 East Hwy 13, Suite 102, Burnsville, MN 55337
Our internships require a minimum of 150 volunteer hours over a 3-4 month period and are available through out the year.
ResponsibilitiesAs an intern, you will work at our Burnsville Resource Center greeting customers and guests as they arrive. answer calls on the 360 Communities main phone line, connect customers to resources, assist customers with scheduling food shelf appointments, meet with customers when they come in for food shelf appointments and complete necessary paperwork, build trust and relationships through conversations with customers. Additionally, in the food shelf, you may be called up on to receive deliveries and donations, weigh out going food, ensure food shelf shelves are well stocked, check expiration dates on food and ensure the food shelf is clean and organized.
