DescriptionFirstLink is a non-profit organization located in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Call Specialist Interns at FirstLink provide information and referral services (for instance, an intern may assist a caller with finding resources for food assistance or mental health care), listening and support, crisis intervention, and suicide intervention on the FirstLink 2-1-1 Helpline as well as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. In addition, interns complete special projects based on their personal strengths and professional interests.
All necessary training is provided by FirstLink. The training will build on the knowledge and skills that students learn in Human Development and Family Science and Psychology classes.
