For many suffering from leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood disorders there is hope of a cure through a bone marrow or blood stem cell transplant. That is, of course, if a matching donor can be found. That's where you come in.
By running bone marrow registration drives on your campus, you are giving patients with blood cancer their second chance at life.
The Gift of Life Campus Ambassador Program (CAP) enlists students like you for a paid internship to run cheek swab drives at your college. By reaching out to your friends and clubs you're involved in, you have the potential to speak with many more students than anyone sitting in our offices would.
Thanks to this program, drives are being run on campuses all over the country by the people who know them best: you. And thanks to you, someone may find their miracle match. Who knows? It may actually be your roommate, your big sister, maybe even that kid who raises his hand too much in English class. Someone's life saving donor is waiting to be unveiled - right now.
The math is simple: the more college-aged donors who sign up, the more lives are saved.
So how do you want to spend the year? You can work off-campus, in a work-study job, or at your local coffee shop. Or, by reserving some tables in the student center and texting your friends to check out your new role as a Gift of Life Campus Ambassador this semester, you can single-handedly help save someone's life.
ResponsibilitiesAmbassadors will take the newly acquired knowledge and put it into practice on their individual campuses!
As paid Ambassadors, you will be expected to run multiple recruitment drives each academic semester with the goal of raising awareness and exposing their school to life-saving heroes.
By partnering with other organizations on campus they are passionate about, reaching out to new students who otherwise would not know about Gift of Life, creating dynamic and personalized advertising campaigns, and raising funds to aid their own recruitment efforts, our Ambassadors are given the tools to develop professionally and personally. By years' end, you will know what it is like to lead a program.
Students are able to see their education transform into real life practice; their ideas into life-saving action.
Whether you are a business major, want to attend graduate school, are interested in social work, non-profit management, the health-related field, or simply have a personal connection to this important cause, we want you to join the Gift of Life family today.
Requirements-You will be a full time student at a 4-year college or university for the upcoming academic semester.
-You have a cumulative GPA above 3.0
-You can commit 10 hours per week towards working with us.
