DescriptionMission of the Charleston Parks Conservancy:
The Charleston Parks Conservancy is a charitable organization that strives to connect people with their parks by increasing the quality, awareness, appreciation, and usage of Charleston’s parks and greenspaces.
General Statement of the Position:
Under direct supervision of the Development Director, Amy Carter, and the Assistant Director of Development, Ashley Wyndham, the intern will assist within the Development office and participate in special projects related to -Communications and Marketing for the Conservancy.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions:
-Discovers, researches, and drafts content for social media outlets and blog posts pertaining to the Conservancy mission, events, programs, marketing campaigns, and other issues determined by Conservancy staff
-Organizes and maintains the Conservancy’s photo database
-Assists with event planning and marketing campaigns
-Conducts interviews with staff members regarding content
-Visits parks, attends events, participates in Conservancy meetings and programs
-Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements*Graduate student or recent graduate preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Strong organizational and planning skills, great attention to detail
-Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Apple products, MailChimp and Social Media outlets: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
-Experience in photography and video recording
-Interest in public parks, urban greenspaces, nonprofit organizations
